Built a tool I needed, made it public
BitLoop.eng is Live — shipping through friction
BitLoop.eng is now live.
This is a small, browser-based chiptune loop engine I built because I needed something fast and predictable for my own game development. Not a DAW. Not a music toy. Just a way to make clean, loopable retro audio without friction.
Getting it public wasn’t smooth.
Between browser audio quirks, iframe behavior on itch, routing issues, scroll edge cases, and general “web stuff,” this release was less about adding features and more about making the thing actually work where people will use it.
That part matters.
Right now, BitLoop.eng focuses on:
-
Fast iteration
-
Deterministic loops
-
Simple step-based control
-
Game-ready output (WAV + data)
It runs entirely in the browser. No installs. No accounts. No setup.
This release is intentionally small. I’d rather have a tool that does one thing cleanly than something bloated that tries to be everything.
The tool is free.
If it helps you, that’s the win.
If there’s enough interest, I’ll eventually release an offline/source version with the full codebase for learning and extension.
For now, this is just me putting something useful into the world and seeing who it helps.
